IQ HafenCity

The Intelligent Quarters (IQ) HafenCity is a restricted competition among seven international architectural practices. The project is part of the renewal of the Hamburg harbour, one of the most fascinating sites in Europe, on a corner overlooking the Elbe in the Elbtorquartier.

The IQ project comprises a university building, a residential complex and a 70m office tower with a floorage that amounts to 28000 m².

Sustainability is at the heart of the IQ project, and as the majority of the buildings in the area also comply with stringent sustainability requirements, the Elbtorquartier is expected to become a model example of green urban development.

I worked specifically on the residential buiding and the office tower, modelling both in 3D and in a physical model different shape and façade solutions.

Developed as part of a team while working at Dissing+Weitling Architecture in Copenhagen, Denmark.
